Local musicians Rosanna “Roxsy” Castillo and Shawn “Shawn J” Jacquet were both winners at the 20th Caribbean Gospel Marlin Awards ceremony held on Saturday, February 25, at Dr. Myles Munroe BFM Diploma Center, in Nassau, Bahamas.
Both Shawn J and Roxsy were in the same categories as some well-known artists such as Papa San, Sherwin Gardner, Positive, Carlene Davis and Nigel Lewis, amongst others.
Shawn J won the Music Video of the Year for the production “Long Road,” while Roxsy won Foreign Language Recording of the Year for her song “Necesito.”
Both artistes operate under the Zamar Musical Productions label. Shawn J was also nominated in the categories Album of the Year for “Long Road;” Contemporary Vocal Performance of the Year Male for “Real Love;” Dance Recording of the Year for “Throw it Up;” New Artist of the Year and Reggae Recording of the Year for “Don’t Judge Me.”
Roxsy was also nominated in the categories Contemporary Vocal Performance of the Year Duo/Group for “True Friend” with Roxsy featuring Shawn J and Torch Eugene; Contemporary Female Vocal Performance of the Year for “Praise You” and Product Packaging for “Shake It Off.”
